Konzerte, Modenschauen und Lesungen sollen das Museum auf
dem Kiez zu einem lebendigen Veranstaltungsort machen. Beatlesmania wird
betrieben von der FKP Austellungs- und Betriebsgesellschaft um Folkert
Koopmans. Folkert Koopmans organisiert seit 1990 mit FKP Scorpio Konzerte
und Musikfestivals.
We all know The Beatles
were from Liverpool, but they really became a cohesive band in Hamburg,
Germany in the early 1960s. Now the German part of Beatles history will
forever be preserved in the new BEATLEMANIA Hamburg museum which opened
in the St. Pauli district.
The five-story museum is located on the Reeperbahn, very
close to the recently inaugurated Beatles Square as well as the location
of the clubs where The Beatles used to play. A life-size Yellow Submarine
along with many items of Beatles memorabilia and historical artifacts are
on display.
It is situated in the Reeperbahn, where the group performed
in the Indra, Top Ten, Kaiserkeller and Star-Club venues during five stints
between 1960 and 1962. They also returned for a concert at the city's Ernst
Merck Halle on 26 June 1966.
A memorial square, Beatles-Platz, was opened in Hamburg in
2008, containing five stainless steel sculptures of The Beatles.
