named because it's next door to the police station. A long narrow room
that's much bigger than it looks from the front.

Coffee Shop, and now an excellent bar where you can buy great drinks and
smoke on the back. Gezelig ! a welcome part of @Ganja Tours :)
Decorated with graffiti on, not just the walls, but everything,
including the comfy chairs at the back overlooking the water.
At the back of the shop you can look out of the back window, over the
police car park (really!), to the Damrak. One time we were in there the
rear section of the shop was closed for maintenance but it's open again
now so you may get to see this view.

This was my most visited coffeeshop! Cheapest drinks and munchies we
found on our whole trip. Best shakes and fruit shakes ever! The most amount
of graffiti this girl's ever seen in one place. You have to sit in the
backroom upstairs lookin out the window at night, epic view! Cliche menu
but no gripes.

Hill Street at the NieuwMarket
Our new coffeeshop at the Nieuwmarkt 14 has been described
by some as a grown up version of the original Hill Street Blues.
It has a great chill-out-lounge area at the back where
you can play board games, watch dvds, read magazines, or whatever . . .
From March to September you can sit on our terrace and
watch the world go by.
This shop is now 6 years old.
The Menu has a similar range and quality of products
as the original Hill Street Blues with some extras
We also sell great fresh fruit shakes, smoothies and
iced coffees as well as the full range of cakes, truffles and cookies -
simply delicious !
GQ Magazine describes Hill Street at the Market as “ Amsterdam´s
shiniest and most modern coffeeshop..."
A recent local tv programme `Go Mokum Go` chose Hill Street at the
Market as best in their test of a few local coffeeshops for price, quality,
and range of products sold. They especially liked the fantastic fruit shkes
and the comfy seating.
