Louisiana's past comes alive when you visit the History Galleries in the
1792 Merieult House. The beautiful rooms, each dedicated to a different
period, showcase materials chosen from the Collection's holdings. Maps,
documents, artifacts, prints, photographs, paintings, rare books, and furniture
chronicle Louisiana's history from the earliest explorers to the modern
day.
In their varied origins and plans, the buildings of The Collection’s
museum and research center reflect the architecture of New Orleans and
The Collection’s commitment to preserving the French Quarter and its unique
structures.
Exhibitions are presented at both the Williams Gallery at the Royal Street
facility and at the Williams Research Center on Chartres Street.
