Terschelling Transport
The ferries to Terschelling and Vlieland leave from the harbor Harlingen 
Once we leave Harlingen, you will quickly see this harbour disappear behind us. You will first sail along the Pollendam, a dam that was constructed to keep the channel to Harlingen at its proper depth.
Then you will see the islet of Griend in front of you. This is a bird reservation where especially the Sandwich tern finds a refuge. In the proper season some bird-watchers remain on the island, but for most of the time it is uninhabited. Your ship will now head for the sea gate between Vlieland and Terschelling. You will notice that the channel is getting wider.
